High-end Technobeam is a scanning Intelligent spotlight. The Union currently owns 4 units. The union high-end technobeams are usually not directly connected/bracketed to anything and instead are used freestanding. This means care must be taken that they are not knocked over which is particularly an issue with events which have things such as beachballs thrown around.
Care should be taken to ensure the correct protocol is selected - this is typically Techobeam Reduced, or TbR, though can be set to Technobeam Full, or TbF, if enough channels are available. Note that we do not ever use the Technoarray or Technopro protocols. The Technobeam-i DMX protocol is for fixtures with Irises.
Current Usage
2 Technobeams are usually positioned on the cupboard to the left and right of the DJ. The other technobeams are usually un-used on standard club nights however they are sometimes positioned on top of the seating rack and powered from the unused 32A -> 4 way 16A splitter on the west wall of the techbox.

When rigged, they are most commonly found either around the centre square of the Octagon or on the middle of the Stage Rig.
