All articles in this category are about generic fixtures.

The term lighting fixture, also known as a lantern or luminaire, refers to the entire light producing unit.

They all consist of a housing - typically a metal barrel in generic lighting, or a metal or plastic casing for intelligent heads - as well as a lens or opening for the light to shine through, a reflector to ensure all light travels through this lens/opening, a yoke and/or clamp to allow rigging of the light and a lamp.
