The Pioneer DJM-800 is a small format, digital mixing console, designed to be used by DJs. It can typically be found at the Bop, connected to two CDJ2000s.
It features 4 stereo/digital input channels with 3-band EQ, two mono input (microphone) channels with 2-band EQ and auto-ducking, an A-B crossfader and a range of sound colour effects and beat effects.
Inputs & Outputs
Inputs
The DJM has 4 digital inputs, which we don't use, so the four Digital input select switches should be set to CD or Line.
Each channel has two sets of inputs for phono cables, labelled either CD and Line or Line and Phono.
When a line level signal, such as from a CD player or computer, is being used, the source should be connected to the CD (or Line on channels 3/4) inputs in the latter. If the input is from CDJs, minijack cables should be used to link the Control input/outputs for the corresponding channels.
Turntables should be connected to the Phono inputs, and their grounding wires attached to the grounding terminals.
Each channel also has an input select switch at the top of the channel strip; ensure this is set to the correct input when setting up.
The desk also has one combined Jack/XLR microphone input, and one Jack-only input for microphones. These can be found on the top, in the upper left hand corner.
Outputs
The desk has two XLR outputs for the main amp stack, labelled as Master.
There is a pair of Jack outputs for stereo monitoring, labelled Booth. These should be linked to the monitor amps - though may need a Jack-XLR adapter.
Finally, on the top of the mixer there is a 1/4" jack output for the DJ's headphones. If the DJ brings headphones with a minjack, there are adapters in the Ents Cupboard.
